Sony Ericsson new phones

Recently in Sony Ericsson Category

Paris.JPG

A few days ago, we brought you a couple of pictures of the upcoming Sony Ericsson Paris. Now, we have some more, well actually a lot more, courtesy of mobile-review.com. A guy over at their forums got some hands-on time with the new device and posted his views on it.

According to him, there aren't too many discernible differences in the new UIQ 3.3 interface and the same goes for the hardware putting it next SE's G700 and G900. He goes on to give a better opinion about its applications and the aGPS with the 5-megapixel camera being a bit better than the one on G900. Here are some confirmed specs of the Paris so far:

  • 5-megapixel camera
  • aGPS and Google Maps and WayFinder
  • WiFi and Bluetooth
  • 2.6-inch screen
  • 960mAH battery
  • QWERTY keyboard/touch-sensitive buttons
  • Widgets Application
  • New browser version
  • Symbian UIQ ver3.3

It wouldn't be wrong to say that 2008 is the year of the touchscreen phones. We have already seen the Xperia X1, the Tube, the 3G iPhone, the Vu, and the awesomeness called Touch Diamond, not to forget the Xenium 800 from Philips. That's pretty much every major cell phone manufacturer out there people! Here's one more touchscreen device from Sony Ericsson, which is codenamed Paris.

The Paris looks to be a slider with a humongous screen and runs on Symbian UIQ 3.3, the latest version of UIQ after it was acquired by Sony Ericsson. As we can garner from the pictures, the phone has a 5-megapixel camera and a QWERTY keypad. There is no info on whether it has HSDPA/HSUPA, GPS, or if the screen is VGA, but if all these points tally up, we will have one more hot contender for the HTC Diamond, don't you think?

W350i.jpgMost of Sony Ericsson phones tend to be on the pricey side, but every once in a while, the company releases a phone that is appealing and affordable to the masses. This time, SE has rolled out the Sony Ericsson W350i Walkman Phone.

The W350i has a small but roomy design. It is fashioned as a small portable music player - hence, its part of Sony Ericsson's ever expanding line of Walkman phones. The W350i stores up to 470 songs on the memory card. The W350i has the excellent TrackID feature. The W350i keeps you entertained. Tune in the FM radio to your favorite station, or try a solo - the W350i also comes pre-loaded with Guitar Legend, a mobile game for rock'n'roll buffs.

Sony Ericsson C902 Cybershot Phone

The C902 is another phone in the Cybershot series and compatible with UMTS/HSDPA 2100 and tri-band GSM networks. The camera on this baby is pretty sophisticated, including autofocus, flash, face detection and video capabilities.

Other usual niceties include PhotoDJ and VideoDJ to manage/edit your photos and video clips. The C902 supports Memory Stick Micro (M2) memory card.

No word on the pricing, but the Sony Ericsson C902 Cybershot phone will be available -- check back with us later.

Xperia X1

It's funny how companies try to keep new products under wraps, and sometimes the most innocent of things reveals them. This time, it's the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 device, a Windows Mobile phone slated for a September 2008 release. That may seem far away, but for those eagerly waiting for the device - you know it's worth it.

The news was leaked thanks to Handango's newsletter. The Xperia X1, which will come with Handango's InHand service built-in, features a WVGA resolution screen (800x480 pixels). Obviously, the phone will be available in multiple languages.

    Sony Ericsson's Beibei

One more Sony Ericsson leak for the day, the daftly codenamed "beibei." It looks like the guys over at Yesky were able to get their hands on an actual device, based on the quality of the pictures available. There isn't much detail available on the device, unlike the P5 and G502 we reported on earlier but what is known is that beibei belongs to the Walkman series from SE and will run on Symbian OS 9.3 with the new UIQ 3.3 user interface (with Demand Paging support). The device has a display smaller than the usual touchscreen phones and curiously more buttons than is the norm for a touchscreen smartphone. Also, from one of the pictures, we can see that the phone does have WiFi connectivity. That's about it as far as the details go about this mysterious device.

Of course, nothing can be confirmed until the official announcement by Sony Ericsson in the future, and we will be sure to let you know when they do. Meanwhile, take a look at some more pictures of "beibei" after the break.

    sony ericsson G502.jpg

    sony-ericsson-w61s.jpg
Sony Ericsson has introduced a new phone that is sure to rock the camera-phone market. This time, its the Cyber-shot W61S, a new 5.1-megapixel camera phone with 3x optical zoom and smile shutter technology. This slider phone features "Exmor" CMOS matrix, the same sensor technology from Sony's Alpha DSLR.

The W61S can work in CDMA 1 X WIN networks supporting EV-DO Rev.A technology, and supports Bluetooth, so the user can feel free without wires. GPS-functionality enhances photo capabilities of the phone.

In addition to photo and GPS the new Cyber-shot phone can boast of a big widescreen 2.8" TFT VGA display, which can be used as a pocket TV display. If the this display isn't big enough for you to share the content, the developers added a video out.

    Emelie1.jpg

A new Sony Ericsson phone to be release soon is codenamed "Emelie." Not much specs about Sony Ericsson Emelie are known as of now, although sources reveal that the Emelie is a low or a mid-end phone with a 2-megapixel camera with no auto-focus, no GPS or WiFi, and in a metal casing. It is supposedly similar to the Sony Ericsson K530i. Liked the leaked new phones before which preceded the official announcements by a few days, I surmise it won't be long before we get to have the official word about the Emelie..

    W580i%20green.jpg

Realizing it couldn't stop at being pink, the Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman phone is now available in a new and fresher color -- jungle green. It looks a bit tacky in my eyes -- like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the guise of a cellular phone. But then again, tastes vary, and I'm sure many would find this color scheme preferable. If you're forgotten, the original Sony Ericsson W580i is a simple white music phone with 2-megapixel camera.

T303a1.jpgDo you remember those Sony Ericsson slider pic leak a few days ago? I didn't think the announcement would come this soon, but Sony Ericsson has unveiled its new slider phone, the Sony Ericsson T303. Based on the recent report about the new Sony Ericsson nomenclature system, this new slider is a low-end device which is the first in its series. The Sony Ericsson T303 is a compact slider phone with a 1.8-in 128 x 160 pixels color TFT display, 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom, media player with FM radio, WAP 2.0 XHTML Internet connection, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB support. This GSM/GPRS phone measures 83 x 47 x 14.7 mm, weighs 93 grams, and will be available starting mid of 2008 in selected markets worldwide.

    More pics after the jump.

    SE_slider_leak1.jpg

Brought to by se4m.com are the leaked pics of a new and unidentified Sony Ericsson slider handset. As you can spot on the pic, it's juxtaposed with another handset, the Sony Ericsson W901i. The new phone is smaller than the W901i, with a more compact frame. It's presumably a mid or low-end type, with a camera, and a brushed metal finish. Watch out for more info about this handset when they come out. For now, enjoy the pics after the jump!

    SE_nomen.jpg

The recent phones released and unveiled at MWC by Sony Ericsson might have caused a few eyebrows to rise with the deviation in their phone model names. This illustration could explain, well, most of them. The new Sony Ericsson phones will be exhibiting a new nomenclature. Additionally, aside from the upcoming G-series (G for Generation Web), Sony Ericsson will also be releasing an S-series or Snapshot series, similar to Cybershot except with lower specs, and the R-series or Radio series, which will be the lower end version of the Walkman series.

    SE_clamshell_leaked.jpg

Leaks are always a great thing and we're glad this one got to us. Apparently, a new and unidentified Sony Ericsson clamshell has been spotted. If we based our observations on the pic, it seems the new phone has mobile web browsing capability, Bluetooth connectivity, and GPS functionality. It's being touted as a "stylish" phone and although we can't see much from the blurry pic, it looks okay to me. We can't wait 'til more info about this Sony Ericsson handset comes out. We'll make sure to report them.

    Cybershot%20SO905iCS.jpg

When DoCoMo announced a slew of new cell phones last year, we missed covering the Sony Ericsson Cybershot SO905iCS cell phone. The Japanese mobile network giant has finally released the Cybershot SO905iCS in the Japanese keitai market. The Sony Ericsson Cybershot SO905iCS has a 5-megapixel camera with Exmor CMOS sensor, LED flash, and 3x optical zoom lens. It features 2.7-inch WVGA LCD display as well as microSD car support. It measures 113x50x24mm and weighs 145g. Best of all, the SO905iCS cell phone has the new smile shutter mode technology and face detection function.

We saw the Tyra and the Josephine. This Wednesday, it seems like we're also slated to see the Sony Ericsson handset code named "BeiBei." It will reportedly be announced along with high-end handset with the codename "Paris."

    BeiBei.jpg

    X1_Front.jpg

Presented along with the other new handsets in the Mobile World Congress is Sony Ericsson's announcement of a new mobile phone line -- the XPERIA. The line aims to create a convergence between mobile web communications and multimedia functionalities. This arc slider phone with a metal finish sports a 3" 800x480 pixel resolution touchscreen display with a QWERTY keyboard, and runs on Windows Mobile OS. Navigation is made easy with not only the touchscreen panel, but also the 4-way joystick. You can even the panel interface according to your preference. With a mobile connection of GPRS/EDGE with HSDPA/HSUPA, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 also boasts a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity. Measuring 110 x 53 x 16.7 mm, the model will be released in black and silver colors.

    Z770i_Front_Angle40.jpg

Another specialized phone launched by Sony Ericsson for the Mobile World Congress is the Sony Ericsson Z770 clamshell phone. The Sony Ericsson Z770 is a classic phone featuring high-speed internet access with HSDPA. It provides an intuitive user interface which allows even the most tech-challenged individual to surf the internet using the handset. With the Exchange ActiveSync capability, you can direct your emails from various address straight to your mobile phone. The Sony Ericsson Z770 has 2.2" screen, text to speech functionality, and Bluetooth connectivity. The handset is slated to come out on Q2 2008 in Vogue Red, Graphite Black, and Exquisite Gold.

    W980i_front_closed.jpg

Along with the phones released focusing on imaging and organization, Sony Ericsson makes sure to give other musically-focused phones a run for their money this Mobile World Congress 2008. The new Sony Ericsson W980 Walkman phone promises superior sound quality, and of course, a whole lot of spunk with its Walkman on Top feature, which lets you control your playlist even if the clamshell is closed. The Sony Ericsson W980 has 8GB of internal memory, 3.2 megapixel camera with 3.2 digital zoom, as well as an FM transmitter, allowing the streaming of music to any device with an FM receiver. You can also access Sony Ericsson's over-the-air download service, PlayNow, to download music to your mobile phone. The model comes with the Stereo Portable Handsfree HPM-77 headset. Said headset will be available as a standalone product by June, 2008, while the Sony Ericsson W980 Walkman Phone will be launched on the third quarter of the year.

Sony Ericsson Z750 - front Sony Ericsson Z750 - back

    SONY ERICSSON CYBER SHOT K850i

The Sony Ericsson K850i 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and Xenon flash produces true digital camera results. Even if you are not an expert photographer, the K850 does everything to help you get the best possible shots on your phone. Photo fix automatically improves light balance in one click to make your picture as good as it can get.

    • 5 megapixel camera phone with Auto focus and Xenon flash
    • Tri-Band HSDPA phone for high-speed picture and video blogging
    • Advanced digital camera features - BestPic, Photo fix and PictBridge

Increased functionality does not mean increased complexity. When in camera mode the K850’s next generation camera menu makes it intuitive to scroll between functions like shoot mode and picture size. The lens cover retracts automatically with one press of the camera button and a new mode selector lets you switch quickly between camera, video and picture viewing modes. The regular phone keyboard also has a dual purpose; switch to camera mode and illuminated icons indicate which keys act as short-cuts for the digital zoom and other functions.

Beyond the camera, the K850i is a capable multimedia phone. The new media browser puts all of your stored media, whether photos, video, music or podcasts, in one place offering you a unique Sony Ericsson media experience. Scroll, sort and access your media from a single point in the menu. The K850i Cyber-shot phone also allows you to carry out an intelligent search to see photos by the month they were taken, view thumbnail images or scroll through in full-picture mode. With the new crystal display, the K850 offers optimal clarity from any viewing angle.

Once you have taken your picture it is easy to share the memory. If showing a photo on the K850’s large 2.2" crystal bright display, the innovative auto rotate feature will display it in the correct aspect - portrait or landscape - irrespective of the orientation it was taken in. Picture blogging and video blogging allow you to upload your shots and footage at HSDPA speeds to your own blogsite.

The Sony Ericsson K850 Cyber-shot phone is a Tri-Band HSDPA and Quad-Band GPRS/EDGE phone with a colour choice of either Velvet Blue or Luminous Green. It will be available in selected markets from early Q4 2007.
